Do you have IP intercoms?

Do your systems work on a fibre network provided by others?
Yes, our intercom access control and CCTV systems are all GPON ready. Our systems have previously been used with LBNCo, Opticomm, CFN, Open Networks, TPG and Fibrecorp networks to name a few.

Do any of your products suit the commercial space?
Most of our products can be used in the commercial space, including intercoms for pedestrian and vehicle entries, and cameras integrated into third party systems. Our range of CASTEL intercom systems in particular, are designed specifically for the commercial market. Please contact us for more information.

How do I mute / unmute my handset?
Each model has a different way of activating and deactivating the ringer. Please email us with a photo of your handset and we will come back to you with instructions.

I have a problem with my intercom, who can fix it?
Our sister company, Epsilon Security, is always on hand to provide support service to ensure that our products continue to perform well. Upgrading / Installing

We have a different system to Urmet. Are we able to install a new Urmet apartment handset onto this old system?
It is our understanding that most systems require that you use like to like products from the same brand. As there are currently no generic parts for intercoms, we often suggest that when replacing items on an intercom system that you use same brand of products. Urmet does make a universal audio handset that can replace another audio system on traditional intercoms (analogue 4+n systems and 1+1 systems). If you require an intercom replacement, please email us a photo of your handset and entry panel and we would be more than happy to assist you.

We have an old audio system, can we upgrade to a video system?
Usually yes. It is often possible to reuse the existing wiring and install a new video system. Our 2VOICE video intercom system is Urmet’s 2WIRE intercom solution for multi-residential buildings. If you have any questions or would like a quote, please email us and we will be happy to assist you.

Can we use our existing wiring when upgrading to a new Urmet intercom system?
Usually yes but this depends on the upgrade system you require. A full IP system for instance, would require newer computer type cabling (CATEGORY 5/6 Cable) or a fibre network that we can link to. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

Urmet has a call diversion to mobile app available. Can I install it onto our Urmet system?
Currently call diversion is available for IPervoice systems and 2VOICE Systems. What system do you have? Ask your building manager or email us at sales@urmet.com.au with a photo of your apartment station and front entry panel and we will be able to let you know whether your system is compatible and how we may be able to assist you.

How do I get additional swipes for my property?
Please contact your managing agent, strata manager or building manager to order additional swipes.

We have an old analogue CCTV system and the image quality is deteriorating. What could be causing this and can this be fixed?
Sometimes it may be that the lens is dirty and the solution is as simple as cleaning a pair of glasses. Other times, it is because the system is old and analogue technology. In all situations, our sister company Epsilon Security, is always on hand to provide support service to ensure that our products continue to perform well.
