With a focus on giving back to our community, the Urmet Group in Australia is proud to have been able to sponsor the Hellenic Festival in Canberra, along with Lefand and Fibercorp, over the weekend.

Organised by the Hellenic Club of Canberra in partnership with the Greek Community of Canberra and Fair Canberra Inc, the two-day event was held at the Hellenic Club Woden on Saturday 20 March and Sunday 21 March. With 2021 marking 200 years of Greek independence, the timely celebration is particularly significant this year.

A street food festival, the event also went beyond celebrating the Greek culture to celebrate the many other cultural backgrounds that make up Australia, with traditional food, music and dance from various different cultures. A full two days of singing, dancing, live performances and stalls, the rain was no match for the joy and enthusiasm brought about by the event, and we are proud to have been a part of it.
